Conservative care

These are dental treatments aimed at treating and restoring teeth damaged by cavities. This is an acid attack on the tooth enamel caused by bacteria from food debris left in the mouth.

The tooth then demineralizes and a cavity becomes hollow. At this stage, cavities never heal spontaneously.
Consulting a dentist is therefore essential. During the consultation, he chooses the appropriate treatment depending on the stage of caries development. The older it is, the more your tooth is attacked, the more important the dentist’s intervention will be. Better to worry about it as soon as possible in order to preserve your dental capital.

The care consists in cleaning the demineralized tissue of the tooth and replacing it with an esthetic filling in composite, an inlay or an onlay in ceramic.

Stage 1: cavity in the enamel without cavity, treatment by resin infiltration.

Stage 2: caries in the enamel and dentin, the dentist cleans the caries and closes the cavity with a composite.

Stage 3: caries arrives at the level of the pulp, the tooth will then be devitalized.

Stage 4: the cavity has completely decayed the tooth.

Practical advice

A tooth that has already been treated can recover if oral hygiene is not satisfactory or if the filling is no longer tight. Pain can more or less occur. A consultation with your dentist is recommended immediately.
